Calçotada is the quintessential feast in Catalonia.
It consists of the ingestion of elongated and thin onions cooked over live flames and accompanied by a traditional sauce called romesco.
Calçots are usually eaten from the end of autumn to the beginning of April and it is usually a community meal since it is usually accompanied by different dishes such as grilled meat or bread toast.
